Pro Tip: 2022 Odyssey Putters Are All About MOI

Pro Tip: 2022 Odyssey Putters Are All About MOI

Odyssey, trusted by the best on Tour and weekend warriors alike for decades, continues to improve its putter line with some fresh releases for 2022.

The new Odyssey putters for 2022, under the watchful eye of master craftsman Sean Toulon, return to some reliable brand names injected with new tech. Odyssey golf putters for 2022 boast mallet and blade stylings, with a laser-like focus on forgiveness in off-centre strikes.

Odyssey is the No.1 golf putter brand in the game and this year sees two new putter lines – one blade (the Tri Hot 5K) and one mallet (the Eleven).

Read on to learn more about how Odyssey putters can help Canadian golfers this season, and don’t forget: there are plenty of great opportunities to buy used Odyssey putters at GlobalGolf.ca, too.

    Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K One Putter

Odyssey had an ambition goal with the Tri Hot 5K – try to introduce a blade putter design that actually outperforms a mallet. To try to do this, Odyssey has moved the CG positioning forward and leveraged new materials like stainless steel, tungsten, and 6061 aircraft grade aluminum to help re-invent what they believe a blade can accomplish.

Released initially in the early 2000’s the Tri Hot putters back then also used multi-material construction. The new Tri Hot 5K putters see the same kind of construction, but now with tons of Tour feedback and a modern effort.

The big key change for this new Odyssey putter is with how much tungsten is being used. That helps to drive the MOI higher than previous models, and combined with forward CG you have improved spin control, speed consistency, and speed control.

Of note, there are interchangeable weights in the Tri Hot (available in steel, tungsten, and aluminum) plus the classic White Hot insert has returned with the original build-out of sound, performance, feel, and formulation.

There are five models of the new Odyssey Tri Hot putters the ‘One,’ ‘Two,’ ‘Three,’ ‘Double Wide,’ and ‘Triple Wide.’

And by the way: Talor Gooch won The RSM Classic wielding a Tri Hot 5K putter – the first week it was available on Tour.

    Odyssey Eleven

Odyssey Eleven Triple Track DB Red Stroke Lab Putter

The other new Odyssey putter for 2022 is the Eleven, a combination of the White Hot insert and Stroke Lab shaft. Its main objective is to help golfers improve their stroke’s consistency.

It boasts a unique mallet head shape which helps to combine big-time MOI properties with a more forward CG position. There are three options for alignment – Triple Track Alignment, a Tour Lined version, and an unlined version – and five overall models.

The Eleven shape is new for 2022 and boasts a crowned design. Besides the classic White Hot insert, there is also a lightweight TPU sole insert which helps to improve the sound and feel.

Both the Eleven and Tri Hot 5K putters have the Red Stroke Lab shaft as well. It’s a multi-material shaft with a shortened steel section (reducing the weight by seven grams) that’s more stabler and stiffer – to help improve consistency with your stroke.
