  • TaylorMade Qi10 - Straight Distance is the Best Distance

    Updated: Jan 18, 2024
Pro Tip: TaylorMade Qi10 - Straight Distance is the Best Distance

When Brooke Henderson had the opportunity to test the new TaylorMade drivers at the end of 2023, she loved it immediately. She put it in the bag for the week of the Grant Thornton Invitational in December and she and fellow Canadian Corey Conners finished second at the first LPGA-PGA Tour co-sanctioned event since 1999.

Henderson, Canada’s winningest golfer of all time, wasn’t alone in bagging TaylorMade’s new Qi10 driver. Rory McIlroy, ditto, at the DP World Tour’s opener in Dubai (he shot a 9-under 62 to start the week), same with the eventual winner of that event, Tommy Fleetwood.

Henderson is about to try to defend her title at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Orlando and she’ll have the new TaylorMade Qi10 driver and fairway woods in her bag.

“I used (the new driver) on the range and I was like, ‘wow, I love this’ so it went immediately into my bag,” Henderson said of the new TaylorMade Qi10. “It’s been such a great change and I’ve gained a little bit of distance and I feel like I’m hitting it a lot straighter which gives me a lot of confidence moving forward.”

With the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, and DP World Tour’s 2024 campaigns now underway you’ll likely see even more of the game’s best switching out to the TaylorMade Qi.

But, why should weekend warriors do the same? The new TaylorMade Qi10 lineup was engineered for a balanced blend of distance and forgiveness.

For the drivers specifically, TaylorMade has found a new level of measuring the moment of inertia – the Qi10 Max (one of three new drivers in the Qi10 line) hit the elusive total MOI of 10,000 g-cm2. In sum, that means TaylorMade has crafted the most forgiving clubs it’s ever made.

Below is everything you need to know about the new TaylorMade Qi10 drivers, irons, fairway woods, and hybrids.

And of course: if you’re thinking about an upgrade to your current set, you can trade it in with U-Trade®, and see see if the TaylorMade Qi10 is right for you. If you need to see which of the new TaylorMade clubs are perfect for you, then don’t forget to try the U-Select® tool to help you find the right ones for your game.

    Qi10 Drivers

There are three models of the new TaylorMade Qi10 drivers – the Qi10, the Qi10 Max, and the Qi10 LS.

“This quest to 10K is the sum of a variety of proven TaylorMade technologies that have been integrated into a new shape in the Qi10 Max, literally giving us the most forgiving driver in TaylorMade history with the highest MOI we’ve ever achieved,” Tomo Bystedt, the senior director of product creation, said.

The TaylorMade Qi10 has a lower centre of gravity (CG) projection and higher MOI than the Stealth 2 which creates a driver aimed at golfers who are seeking the ultimate blend of forgiveness and distance.

The Qi10 LS offers lower launch and lower spin and is targeted at players with faster swing speeds. It’s got a new moveable weight that features just a single 18-gram steel sliding weight on a track system that helps optimize ball flight.

    Qi10 Fairway Woods

There are three models of the new TaylorMade Qi10 fairway woods on offer – the Qi10, Qi10 Tour, and Qi10 Max.

The TaylorMade Qi10 Tour fairway wood has all the same technological improvements and benefits as the Qi10 but with a slightly more compact 170cc head size which sits square to target and still provides an optimal blend of forgiveness and versatility.

The final new TaylorMade Qi10 fairway wood, the Qi10 Max, has a larger 200cc head size that maximizes the forgiveness via the highest MOI fairway TaylorMade has ever produced. It’s designed to help with extremely high launch and optimized carry distance.

    Qi10 Hybrids

Like the line of new TaylorMade fairway woods, there are three of the new TaylorMade Qi10 hybrids on offer.

The TaylorMade Qi10 has a larger Carbon Crown which frees up mass to enable lower CG and added forgiveness. The front-back split weighting creates a hybrid that’s extremely long with effortless high launch. The mid-face height helps to give golfers of all skill levels confidence off the tee and good launch from even the tightest of lies. It’s ideal for the widest array of players.

The new TaylorMade Qi10 Tour hybrid boast a high-toe deeper face that gives a look and performance for players looking for the ultimate combination of workability, distance, and control. The new Tour-inspired shape sits square to the target to provide confidence while the internal heel-toe weighting means a more compact look but with added forgiveness.

Finally, the TaylorMade Qi10 Max has a shallower face height which allows golfers to launch it high from anywhere, while the extreme perimeter weighting and ultra-low CG means a hybrid engineered for long carry distance, high launch, and max forgiveness.

    Qi10 Irons

The key for the new TaylorMade Qi10 irons is to help golfers who are looking for constant contact and are in need of a larger sweet spot. The increased blade length of the TaylorMade Qi10 irons helps improve forgiveness while the leading edge has been redefined to give players a consistent strike for higher launch. The Qi10 irons boasts TaylorMade’s patented face technology designed to control face flexibility and eliminate the ’cut’ spin to help with straighter shots through the whole set.

There are also the new TaylorMade Qi10 HL irons (Higher and Lighter) that are designed with weaker lofts and an ultralight component package, making them perfect for players who could benefit from a higher launch and increased clubhead speed to help maximize accuracy and carry distance.
