    Pro Tip: Fall Apparel Preview

Canadians are inching closer to the end of their golf season, but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep playing for as long as possible this year.

With plenty of great options from some of the biggest brands in golf apparel, Canada might see lots more folks on the fairways through October and maybe into November, too.

Depending on where you live, all it might take to squeeze an extra game or two out of 2022 is a new shirt, or extra sweater for golf. Pullovers these days come in lots of different fabrics and colours and are perfect layering pieces. Combined with an extra supportive pair of golf shoes or popular golf pants and you won’t have to put the clubs away until the snow flies (or maybe even afterwards!).

Here are a couple of great selections – and don’t forget tuques, either! – to keep your season going as long as possible.

The Puma Jackpot golf pant comes in either a traditional golf pant style or jogger, in all kinds of colours to be paired with extra layers for fall golf. Made with polyester fabric that helps with durability, the pants also boast Drycell moisture wicking to help you stay dry. The jogger, meanwhile, has the same build material as the Puma golf pant, but delivered in peak style and comfort.

Don’t miss out on the FootJoy Performance Slim Fit pant, the Nike Dri-Fit Flex pants, or the adidas Go-To five pocket pant, either.

For an ultra-premium product, there’s also the Peter Millar Kirk performance golf pant. Constructed with a premium double-weave fabric, this tailored trouser offers four-way stretch, easy-care, and is wind and water resistant.

If you’re looking for something that’ll be just as nice fireside as on the fairway the CloudSpun sweater from Puma is just that. A new proprietary fabric, CloudSpun delivers ultra-soft feal and four-way stretch for all the comfort you’ll need to stay warm on the golf course or out on the town during the fall.

There are also plenty of great golf pullovers to add to your outside-layer outfits through to the end of the golf season.

The Under Armour Cold Gear Infrared compression top features Cold Gear Infrared technology to absorb and retain body heat while also boasting UA Storm technology, which helps to repel water.

And when it comes to a key piece of golf apparel to the fall, you’ve got to stack your closet with a few solid outwear pieces. Hoodies are making a strong injection of youthful style – and function – to golf courses these days, and even a legacy brand of golf shirts like FootJoy has a new hoodie for fall. The performance hoodie from FootJoy includes double-stitched fabric for improved durability while the lightweight pullover delivers exceptional warmth and comfort. FootJoy’s pullover category also includes vests, wind shirts, and quarter-zips.

New for this year in the spiked shoe category was the adidas ZG21 ‘motion’ golf shoe, which is a perfect addition to the fall wardrobe thanks to its extra stability and warmth. The shoe has an engineered mesh upper that’s breathable and waterproof, the Boost midsole offers serious comfort, and the Thintech TPU outsole has six-spike construction to help grip the ground – which may feel much different these days than the dead of July – in an exceptional way.
