When the guy who recently reinvented the way both weekend warriors and fellow PGA Tour pros approach driving the golf ball immediately switched out of the Cobra King SpeedZone into something new, Cobra knew it had a winner on its hands.
Yes, Bryson DeChambeau – who smashed his way into the PGA Tour’s record books a year ago and won the U.S. Open in the process – dropped the 2020 Cobra King SpeedZone club in favour of the Cobra Radspeed and is eager to hit the ball, somehow, even further in 2021.
The Cobra Radspeed release date is February 12, 2021. While the CNC Infinity Milled faces of the King SpeedZone in 2020 were popped into the bags of some of the best players in the world, the all-new Cobra Radspeed line has introduced new designs and a game-changing weight distribution strategy to help golfers hit it longer and straighter.
While many people know ‘rad’ to mean ‘cool’ in the case of Cobra Golf, it actually means ‘radius’ or specifically, ‘radial weighting.’ With the Cobra Radspeed driver and metal woods, the R&D team installed a wider radius from the sole weights to the centre of gravity. By increasing the distance between the front and back weights, Cobra Golf created RAD weighting to provide golfers with big-time forgiveness and faster ball speed.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Cobra Radspeed line for 2021.
There are three versions in the Cobra Radspeed driver line, the Cobra Radspeed, Cobra Radspeed XB, and Cobra Radspeed XD. All three versions boast the CNC Milled Infinity face. The Cobra Radspeed driver provides less spin and a more penetrating ball flight – tending to benefit better players.

The Cobra Radspeed XB – which stands for Xtreme Black – is more forgiving. It will benefit players looking for help to get the ball airborne and features more weight in the back of the driver (which helps to deliver higher launch).

The Cobra Radspeed XD, meanwhile, helps slicers to get the ball back on track. ‘XD,’ in this case, stands for Xtreme Draw. Both the Radspeed XD and Radspeed XB boast oversized profiles and the XD’s weight is focused on the inside of the clubhead to help golfers square the face at impact.

Much like how Cobra used radial weighting for the Cobra Radspeed drivers, that same technology is applied to the Cobra Radspeed fairway woods, too. The biggest technology story for the Radspeed fairway wood line is that the CNC Milled Infinity face has been installed on the fairway woods for the first time, which is new from the 2020 Cobra SpeedZone line. There are three families for the Radspeed Fairway woods – the Radspeed, Radspeed Tour and Big Tour, and Radspeed Draw. The new carbon crown is 30 percent thinner than previous models, while the hollowed-out rails in the sole of the club saves 11 grams of weight. The Cobra Radspeed Fairway is the standard model while the Radspeed Tour and Big Tour models are engineered with even less spin in mind. The Radspeed Draw has 16 grams of weight added to the heel.

The radial weighting technology story continues with the Cobra Radspeed hybrids (available in both matte and gloss finishes, and in regular length plus One Length). For the Radspeed hybrids, Cobra golf moved the weighting forward for lower spin and more distance. While there is faster ball speed in the Radspeed hybrid, don’t expect to sacrifice forgiveness.

Cobra golf has incorporated 3D printing into its King Radspeed irons. As a partnership with HP and Parmatech, the 3D printing system gives Cobra golf the opportunity to test products faster (as compared to a traditional process). The Radspeed irons have a 3D-printed medallion, with a detailed lattice structure that helps with weight savings. Because of that, Cobra’s Radspeed irons have more mass, lower across the face, which helps lower the CG and make the Radspeed irons more forgiving and faster.
