  • How GlobalGolf Gets Preowned Gear Ready to Perform Like New

    Updated: Sep 08, 2025
    GlobalGolf's 7-Point Certification

Before any preowned club earns a spot on GlobalGolf, it goes through a meticulous 7-step inspection and prep process. Why? Because we treat used gear with the same level of care and precision as brand-new equipment. Here’s how we make sure every club we list is ready to deliver on the course.

    Step 1: Condition Inspection

We examine every component of the club to spot any damage or wear that could impact performance:

    • Clubhead: Checked for cracks, dents, and internal rattles
    • Shaft & Ferrule: Inspected for bends, bag rub, or excessive wear
    • Grip: Evaluated for tackiness and playability
    • Shaft-to-Head Fit: Verified to ensure proper assembly

    Step 2: Authenticity Verified

Counterfeits don’t make the cut. We authenticate every club using:

    • OEM Logos & Fonts: Inspected for brand accuracy
    • Serial Numbers: Cross-referenced with manufacturer data
    • Model Validation: Confirmed against genuine product specs
    • Swing Weight: Tested to match OEM benchmarks

Step 3: Specs Checked Against OEM Tolerances

Precision matters. We measure and confirm these key specs against the original manufacturer’s tolerances:

    • Loft
    • Lie
    • Length
    • Swing Weight (measured on calibrated spec boards)

Step 4: Custom & Aftermarket Mod Review

Not all mods are created equal. We inspect any customizations to ensure they meet standards and won’t compromise play:

    • Custom stamping, lead tape, hot melt
    • Loft/lie tweaks and paint alterations
    • All confirmed to be within legal and performance spec

    Step 5: Build Quality Inspection

We double-check the integrity of every build:

    • Secure head-to-shaft connection
    • Clean ferrule seating
    • Proper grip alignment and installation

If anything doesn’t meet our standards, it’s fixed or replaced.

Step 6: Set Validation (Irons & Hybrids)

Consistency is key, especially in iron and hybrid sets. We verify:

    • Correct shaft stepping sequence for proper flex progression
    • Matching grips and shafts (when required)
    • Presence of a 9-iron in all iron sets
    • Combo sets meet factory specifications

Step 7: Final Prep & Finish

Before any club is listed for sale:

    • It’s deep cleaned—grooves, faces, grips, and all
    • Any necessary repairs are completed
    • It’s prepped to look great and play even better
